So Who Is Cecilia Martner?


Biography:

Cecilia was born and raised in Chile. Shortly after graduating from High School, her parents sent her to live with her uncle in northern California.

From 1976 until 1980, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at U.C.S.B. She continued her education at U.C. Berkeley where she earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1986. Only taking a moments break in 1983, to marry Christopher Gudeman.

But this was not to be the last blessing in her life...

In 1985 she became the proud parent of their son, Clayton, who is currently working on an MBA from Arizona State University. Then once again in 1987, with the birth of their daughter, Emma, who now owns her own restaurant in Santa Barbara.

As they were growing like weeds, and as in any growing family, Cecilia's contribution was not just child rearing, she was also a chemistry instructor at various community colleges.

1991 another milestone. CITIZENSHIP! Score one for the U.S.A. and for Lompoc!

After the kids where older she spent most of her professional career in the high tech industry, in large companies and startups, as an employee and as a contractor with her own business.

She worked in Silicon Valley where she acquired experience on strategic product development, managing resources, supervising, meeting deadlines and technical marketing.

After 17 years of living in Los Gatos, they moved back to Santa Barbara County and to Lompoc in 2006.

Currently Cecilia teaches Chemistry at Allan Hancock College, and is a member of the Lompoc City Council.
