About Cecilia Martner
A relative new comer to Lompoc, Cecilia soon recognized that we have a city council that doesn't listen to people and has no vision for the future. In their over 10 years in office the city's economy has gone down hill and nearly 25% of our population must travel 100 miles round trip to work. Cecilia and her husband are 2 of them.
Cecilia will work to bring jobs for our skilled workforce. A chemist, she has supervised other workers, managed resources,developed and marketed new products. She has worked in large and small companies and has owned her own businesses.

She was born and raised in Chile . Shortly after graduating from High School in 1974, during the Pinochet dictatorship, her parents sent her to the care of an uncle in northern California .
In 1976, she entered the University of California , Santa Barbara and graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She continued her education at U.C. Berkeley where she earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1986.
In 1983, she married Christopher Gudeman and in 1991 she became a United States citizen. They have two wonderful children, ages 21 and 23. Their daughter, Emma, is employed and lives in Santa Barbara and their son, Clayton, resides and works in Santa Cruz.
She has spent most of her professional career in the high tech industry, in large companies and startups, as an employee and as a contractor with her own business. |

She worked in Silicon Valley where she acquired experience on strategic product development, managing resources, supervising, meeting deadlines and technical marketing.
While her children were young, she taught chemistry at various community colleges.
After 17 years of living in Los Gatos , her husband and her moved back to Santa Barbara County and to Lompoc in 2006. They both hold engineering positions at high tech companies in Goleta.
