1. Raise the bar on preparedness of staff regarding agenda items: I demand that staff is prepared and has answers to all the
questions.
Ask of staff to justify any recommendation and provide evidence for: fiscal impact, logic behind a recommendation, and comparisons
with neighboring cities.
2. Successfully got 3 votes for consolidation of HR and administration. The elimination of one Directorship position saved monies to the
general fund.
3. Demand accountability on organizations that city gives loans and monies to. Fiscal responsibility requires fiscal accountability.
4. Demand quick turn around on studies, and costumer issues.
5. Promote open and transparent government by asking the administration and council to provide as much information as possible during public meetings.
6. Champion code enforcement and voted to declare public nuisance to several properties in town and ask that the city enforces municipal code
on dilapidated commercial buildings.
7. Have staff to answers all questions that public bring to council meetings promptly.
8. Ask city administrator to hold her managers accountable to finish their studies and analysis on time even if it means to stay at work
until late at night. These practices appear to be working however I have to continue to expose lapses.
9. Bring some items that used to be dealt with administratively to the attention of the council, so council deliberates and makes decisions and not staff. |
